Regardless of whether it is performance art, visual art, interactive art installations, or more impromptu forms of expression - art is the thing which brings us together. It inspires us and challenges us. Most of all, it provides an avenue of communicationg thoughts and ideas that would not otherwise exist. The act of creation itself is tremendously rewarding, whether that creation is by yourself or in collaboration. Your art is needed at this event, to challenge us and enliven us, and to bring the imagination alive!

The Dime Museum, by the Victoria Burning Man Community
UPDATE: You must submit your Artifact Description card by 8 AM on Thursday March 5.
Dime museums and sideshow displays were a staple of traveling carnivals and circuses during the late 19th and early 20th century. For only a dime, dupes and rubes could see a collection of the oddest artifacts known to man (For examples, see here).
You are invited to help recreate this lost American folk-art. Examples of “artifacts” from dime museums that you may wish to help recreate are wax sculptures, shrunken heads, body castings, stonehenge made of twinkies, devices of torture, model of an Aztec pyramid, a “real” two headed baby in a jar, a mummy, experiments in taxidermy gone wrong - and any kind of weird creature, monster, or animal you care to create (stuffed, of course). Come up with a weird artifact of your own, with an outlandish story to go with it (recorded on an art card), and have it displayed in the dime museum. (Contact Ashes@csto.org for more info).

A chill middle eastern space set aside to smoke sheesha while listening to a blend of traditional and modern middle eastern tunes. Lounge around and relax between sets in this comfortable sensuous middle eastern vibe. Madame Noir will be on site to read your fortune for a portion of the evening.
